Twitter has 126m active users. If it were a country it would be the 12th largest, after Japan. I don’t know why people act like it is small. The bigger platforms aren’t actually connected enough and are arguably smaller in ways that matter. IMO Twitter > Facebook in key ways.

A "country" is not defined just by the number of people, is it? Shared myths, symbols, stories and memories are the stuff "countries" are made of.
So not surprised at the lack of the "feeling of one country." Not sure what exactly you mean by "acting like it is small" though.🤔

I have fallen into that bucket. Memes spread and across niches so quickly, it appears like the platform is composed of representatives from groups and not the full groups.
