The term vetocracy is from polisci, but the idea is interesting to apply to personal life. There are a number of veto players in your life, which mostly stay quiet, but sometimes activate. Like a car breakdown, which can veto life activities until fixed.

Poor people have a lot more veto players in their lives, because they have less redundancy and fewer things outsourced to make them Other People's Problems. But all people, rich or poor, share some veto players. Like everything to do with personal health for instance.

I kind of get the concept but I hate this "veto" language. Maybe a language about "breakdown" and identifying new affordances to work around and past any breakdowns. If the car is broken down is the bike available and have the capability needed.
