I don’t normally like self-referential Hollywood movies but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is very good. Unlike other Tarantino movies It seems to rides on heart rather than cleverness. Deserves the ‘love letter to hollywood’ tagline, but rises above simple nostalgia.

This is how you do interesting counter factual movies. Really liked the alt-Manson plot.
Weirdly good year for movies, 2019. Three memorable movies: this one, Knives Out, and Parasite.

And with Endgame sticking the landing for MCU, and Rise of Skywalker...landing, seems like extended universe stuff is due to take a backseat for a bit and stand-alones might have another outing.
Kinda refreshing to consume good new stuff again. Reboots and EU stuff getting old.

I hope this means TV will get better too. Sick of the hugely overrated golden age which is barely a gilded age.

"Once Upon a Time . . ." and "Parasite" were both fun. Haven't seen "Kinves Out" yet.

I would recommend The Lighthouse, if you have not already seen it. Amazing suspense/horror film.
