I don’t normally like self-referential Hollywood movies but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is very good. Unlike other Tarantino movies It seems to rides on heart rather than cleverness. Deserves the ‘love letter to hollywood’ tagline, but rises above simple nostalgia.

And with Endgame sticking the landing for MCU, and Rise of Skywalker...landing, seems like extended universe stuff is due to take a backseat for a bit and stand-alones might have another outing. Kinda refreshing to consume good new stuff again. Reboots and EU stuff getting old.

I hope this means TV will get better too. Sick of the hugely overrated golden age which is barely a gilded age.

"Once Upon a Time . . ." and "Parasite" were both fun. Haven't seen "Kinves Out" yet.

I would recommend The Lighthouse, if you have not already seen it. Amazing suspense/horror film.

I’d add Uncut Gems to that list as well. Haunting.
