What is the most trivial event that would drain your resilience and make you go “life sucks and universe hates me”? And how would you objectively rate it on a scale of 1-100 where 1 is a paper cut and 100 is say an aggressive terminal cancer diagnosis? Eg: “lost phone, 15/100”

Not really but I felt like saying it because this cab ride is tedious and I'm sleepy. Real answer is rejection from someone I wasn't even that into -- 10/100

It’s actually a pretty reliable test I use on myself and others frequently to do a quick fragility check to decide how kind I need to be (to myself or someone else)

Surprisingly useful. Thinking in terms of dynamics instead of someone's average state

Some people are pretty stable. I’m definitely not, and neither are half my friends. I think of it as a feature rather than bug. High variance sensitivity to environmental conditions. Canaryism.

Yeah i agree, varying levels of sensitivity pick up different kinds of information. Last couple of years I've felt more calibrated by just rolling with an emotion at face value to a point where the source of it feels like an afterthought
