Whenever anything is labeled a “standard model” in academia, it’s code for, “the loose ends are too hard to tie up so we made a bureaucracy with rules for how not to think about them so we can go around them to easier problems” A set of orange warning cones basically.

"Magisterial" accounts of things are generally accounts of "standard model" understandings of things. They are useful as maps, but not as truths.
