I’d like a 2-tier system though. A non-intrusive safety/emergency monitoring thing and an easy-use interaction mode I can control entirely from one end

Ideal: whole home multi-sensor fusion thing where you can monitor safety comprehensively (falls etc) under tight encrypted permissioned scheme and a less critical routine interaction mode.

What about an Apple Watch + emergency contacts? The issue I see though is remembering to charge it, and falls occurring when it is on the dock. Google Home app which asks you to check in with it every hour? Except at bedtime of course...

Yep I thought of that too

We use iPad. It’s clearly communication not monitoring though. I really liked the demo of the Facebook product but won’t use it...

I use three Nest cameras at home with my dad (88 with late stage Alzheimer’s) to help me simply with knowing when he is standing up so I can go I to that room to help support him.

Also. I’ve done a lot of thinking re monitoring for elder care and the thing any system needs is an ability to evolve as the person’s care needs evolve. What is needed on Day 1 after diagnosis of something like Alzheimer’s is very different to Day 2920.

Yes, but haven’t really tested it. Kind of a backup that we hope will work if needed.
