Friend once pointed out that “health” is 3 things that are in tension: athleticism, longevity, and health qua health (as in freedom from disease and low risk for stuff like heart disease). Pursuing any of the 3 aggressively tends to compromise the other 2.

My experience for first day of possible cold - light 10-20 minute cardio only! Nothing that stresses muscle excessively. Mild cardio has had good results from me (as a chronically sinusitis ridden kid :) )

Workout is a stressor the purpose of which is to produce recovery with overcompensation (antifragility). Unwise to workout when body is already in recovery.
