After discussions with @literalbanana I have concluded Iâm a consulting ethnomethodologist
Stanning 2x2s and eschewing complex made-up âsystemsâ now has a big scholarly justification.
FWIW I suspect "ethnomethodological business consulting" could be a significant thing. Although probably calling it that would be repulsive to both biz people and ethnomethodologists
As I was telling banana thatâs literally what I do, but yeah, awful branding. âArt of gigâ is better branding. Hard to scale/teach though. At best I could convey it through supervised apprenticeship.

Obviously the client-facing brand of ethnomethodological consulting would be no brand. If youâre doing it right they shouldnât even realize you have a method. They should think youâre unusually quick at adopting theirs.

thought at first glance two big disappointment:
- heavier on theory (and assumed theory?) than observational ethnography
- slides removed 'due to copyright being held by another organisation' :-D :-D
