Hypothesis: The novel as a literary form kinda ended with the end of history. It’s been reruns and reboots and refractors and recasts since 1992. Movies evolved via comix into extended universes though.

The theoretician of the end of history took it back so yours needs a redo too,... new stories _will_ emerge when we either move to a new economic or political system!

I understand the notion well. Read fukuyama’s newer book, Identity: the demand for dignity and you’ll see how and why he is reconsidering his thoughts on the state of “end of history” wrt liberal democracy
