you can make multiple databases via an undocumented feature, for different purposes. I have one for ribbonarm/writing stuff generally which I may share with a few people, one for personal stuff which I'll share with wife, and one for my fiction stuff which I may make public.

I've been trying 2 (public vs private) databases but I end up with lots of duplicate pages/topics. Some form of cross/back-linking between databases could solve that.

They're thinking about a git-like approach where you can push/pull changes around

Agreed. If I'm writing only for myself, one db for everything is best, but when it comes to sharing what I've written with others, I need to be able to separate out different chunks.

Still think will be easier with the right UI in a single db than for whole ones -- but quite likely could be wrong

I fear the public / publish use case is incompatible with the roam foundations... Rooting for them but seems like it might not mesh

Think of it this way -- it's like 1-5% of your notes that make their way into the commons -- i.e. the stuff you post on twitter now that isn't worthless in 2 days. but you when you get that 1-5% of good stuff from friends and can build on each others work...pic.twitter.com/AKueYgqIhG
