It's interesting that I *don't* feel like my feed has been taken over by the 100-opinions threads (though my mentions have). I think because I follow enough people who are naturally quite active. The people who are feeling firehosed I suspect follow mainly within a small world.

No I think it’s the algo. Retweets don’t go in your feed?
I got firehosed. It’s obviously a big weakness in recommendation system. And a simple one.
Great guerilla marketing tactic though.

I mostly follow the people doing the threads so I see them directly, but <75 people are doing threads at the moment and I follow over 1000 people, most of them pretty active

I felt firehosed when my use of Twitter was eating small amounts of what felt like extremely good insight on the edge of my knowing.
Now I'm playing the Twitter game and the firehose is like a junkyard filled with interesting bits.

I didn’t notice that kind of effect either, but that may have been because I was too preoccupied with producing the tweets to look at my own feed.

It's always a firehose. The forehosing bothers you when you're not interested in the threads.
