Remarkable the extent to which film-making has NOT been eaten by software. I often see location film crews in LA with several van loads of 80s-vintage-looking equipment (I can’t identify most of it) and crews of like 10-12 people for seemingly simple shots/scenes.

Huh, does this mean if all they need is a quick shot of a building that could be done with a handheld digital camera, they still have to bring a whole crew along?

In not too distant future #deepfake and #animation could merge. Then we will have synthetic actors in a fully software built movie! We have most of the building blocks to do that. I presume such a movie will come from or @NetflixFilm that have both data and tech chops!
