in the early days, humans supposedly stored food surplus in each other's stomachs – I can't eat the whole deer I just hunted, so I share my deer with you today, you share your deer with me tomorrow
IMO the best place to store information surplus is in each other's minds

I have a terrible memory.
But it doesn't matter.
Because I have great friends.

had to pause while writing this to shake and tremble with unexpected emotion
the game is rigged
we isolate and imprison ourselves needlessly
we are social beings

school indoctrinates kids to compete with each other on standardized tests, to see others as competitors rather than potential collaborators. this atomizes people, makes them feel isolated, disconnected, fearful of not measuring up, jealous of others' successes

I talked about this in terms of information – I'm realizing that it also applies to emotions (which are a kind of info)

My verdict: the jetpack of 2020 is a network of smart friends who care about you and will provide you with interesting and relevant information about anything you ask for. A truly social search engine.
Twitter is the best place to do it as far as I know twitter.com/visakanv/statu

Hmm. I’m pretty friendly, but this sounds like a preference for hyperconnectors rather than a good universal default. For me making friends is an occasional side effect of doing things mostly by myself, for myself. I think the world mostly has the right level of friendpower.

oh, I don't mean everyone should be hyperconnectors. you get the benefit just by being the friend of a hyperconnector
