Hey looks like you're emailing my gmail contacts with invites to join without permission. Not okay. I'm revoking access and warning people I recommended this to. The first time I logged in, the contacts-access thing was skippable but the second time it was not.

I will NOT be using the service anymore until I'm convinced you've cleaned up this shitty addresbook spamming dark pattern. I enjoyed my one meeting, and your basic product idea is a good one, but this is not the way to win trust.

Update: based on DM conversation, looks like the combination of a bug causing the unskippable contacts permission, combined with how they use LinkedIn to send invites (presumably connections of recent signups) might have made it look like gmail contacts were being spammed.

If so, still kinda feels sketchy to me to use LinkedIn that way, since it’s getting at the addressbook by other means, but it’s not as bad as stealth addressbook spamming. I’ll post an update to this thread after final resolution.
