Interesting, seems like they can estimate age within 3 years from this. Estimating age otherwise seems like a hard problem. It’s not like you can chop off a leg and count the rings.

scientists have played with the idea that telomeres shorten regularly as you age. in forensics they’ve looked at telomere length as a way to estimate age because you can take telomere length from bone samples, which is helpful if you don’t have other live cells available
