I just moved all the posts from my tempobook blog to ribbonfarm, and plan to shut former down and redirect domain to http://ribbonfarm.com/tempo . How/where do I do a 301 redirect for individual posts/pages? Basically http://tempobook.com/xxx should become http://ribbonfarm.com/xxx
do you mean where the domains are registered (namecheap) or where the sites are hosted currently (wpengine)? I imagine the rewrite rule is at the host level, and at the registrar level the domain itself is redirected to the other domain?

Yes your domain-central or whatever your host calls it. Where you buy the domain registration will be separate, but WPengine shld know how to change the ports and point to your directory

But your host's domain section is where you'd do the "blind" URL (cant remember what it's called now) where you'd assign the domain name to the directory where site is, and do the old URL redirect and display on new site, if that's what you were trying to do
