Mrs. Maisel would be more watchable for me if it were set in contemporary times. The Mad Men/Downton Abbey style period setting adds nothing to the story so far. Memberberry coating. Kinda annoying.

It helps serve the function of rewriting the narrative of the period and tries to wash away other realities of the time
