        My travel time bascially the same in Austin as NYC. NYC, took 90 minutes to get to the airport whereas Austin takes 15 mins so even though you connect through Houston/Dallas more, still nets out the same.

        Good thing is LA area has many choices. Long Island is super cute, a little toy airport. Burbank serves a lot of the US and has few nastinesses. If you're going to Taiwan and a few other foreign locations, you can even use Ontario.
