There’s something I’m not enjoying about living in LA. I think it’s this sense of having to devote more of my brain to making sense of the city for practical navigation alone. And I don’t even do much.

The idle chitchat between LA people always seemed to be heavily weighed toward geography and traffic.

Interesting concept for comparing cities. I felt traveling in SF was demanding of mental bandwidth in perhaps its own way, where you had to devote attention to resolve a “last-mile” transit problem in many places. Likely not as bad as LA, but NY seemed effortless in comparison.

When I shifted to Baltimore from Mumbai, having my thoughts continually interrupted when I have to stop and greet every single person I cross on the street has been horrible. I yearn for the Indian Lack of Recognition As Human Being
