Am I the only one who finds "helpful" meta-information like summary bullet points, key-points graphics etc. actively unhelpful in mastering a brief/wonky material? I'd almost rather have a basic narrative with minimal structuring that I can read serially and summarize for myself

Almost everything I read/write in this genre is under NDA, so no ready examples.

For me it depends on how the summary matches up with the text. Sometimes the "summary" leaves out the most important points or mischaracterizes it. It depends why I'm reading too.

There is some sort of function of different types/amounts of structure + meta information, ranging from
- illegible
- some structure but still needing+enticing real personal engagement, deciphering, processing
- overwrought, pre-chewed destillations sucking out inherent energy

i can relate, despite being a very slow reader. at some point dealing with ambiguity becomes too burdensome, but it seems most people see less of it than me (and usually in agreement with each other).

What are you thoughts on ' approach to Progressive Summarization as a tool to "transfer content through time."
