Is there a sim city style game for owning a small retail store, where you start with some capital, decide what to stock from wholesaler, and make marketing decisions?
Like bloomberg mall game but single-store, and realistic demographic/trend statistics

recettear is a game about managing a store in an rpg world; you sell swords to adventurers etc. dunno if there's marketing

"Capitalism" the game on PC was actually pretty spot on this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitalis and was a lot of fun to play as well

Your tweet made me realize that the biggest difference between IRL situations and sim games is that sims give you guidance on how to accomplish or traverse the situation. IRL you generally gather resources then have to organize them yourself, i.e. when starting a business, etc.

Here’s an old one where you run a lemonade stand. I think I played this one a little in elementary school. From the screen cap it looks like it dates back to 1979 originally.
