Once again hanging out at SJC waiting to head home. I haven’t been north of Palo Alto on Bay Area trips in 2.5 years. This time was actually south to Santa Cruz. So much nicer than going north towards SF. Though to be fair current gig was result of 2017 excursion into SF.
If you go north south a lot, a clipper card plus Uber to/from Caltrain stations might be cheaper, but if you’re only doing a couple of point to point rides a day, Uber/lyft will be cheaper than car rental even without that.

What about night if you have to go to a Denny’s or a Walgreens?

Depends where you stay. Just plan ahead for non emergency needs. Most hotels are near commercial areas. Airbnbs are more randomly scattered.
