The cheapest substack rate is $5/mo or $50/y. New Yorker is $90 a year. So you’re paying more for 2 writers than a full magazine.

I would pay money to keep the New Yorker paywall up, so nobody can make me read their takes. On Substack, there's value alignment (content is produced because it's valuable to me), and the content sticks around and is searchable even after I stop subscribing.
