You’d think we’d have AI assisted microwave popcorn setting that can count pops 2 seconds apart an maximize yield with fewest unpopped kernels and no burning But no they’re still trying to get the damn refrigerator to order milk

What to call features like this that (maybe) can't pay back their development costs in increased (microwave|car|etc) sales, but should obviously exist? 🧐

Joy? Imagine someone saying “We decided not to do that because it would result in too much joy.”

Also, all these “auto” settings that need a mass for the item. Just put a damn scale in the tray!

Just use a pot and sunflower oil. Set to minimum until first ones start popping, then set to maximum for about 30-40 secs (depends on por size) and pour off. Only cover the pot surface with one level of seeds, and enough oil to cover the whole surface. After some tries works flwl

And tastes way better. Extra points if you reuse oil from cooking veggies (I like onions one). You can also pour melted butter after they're done. Use natural dry corn seeds, not the microwave bag thing.

I just taught my kids to do it on the stovetop and to count time between pops.
