Has anyone written the Slouching Towards Bethlehem for the techno optimism of 2000s-2014ish?
20 sometimes flocking to tech and grew up up with tech-ascendancy, burning-man social explosion, re-socialization of psychedelics, etc.
This cohort is now reaching mid-30s. Walls hit.

Quite a lot, yes. Some real brilliance in there, but nothing I know of that is quite on this topic.

That’s the analytic description, yes. What I don’t see captured is the ennui of living through slouching.
It does not feel utopian when someone breaking smart runs into the Complacent Class locking you out of a home (see NIMBYs), or families delayed.

Sort of. I had a tweetstorm(rant) about it all a couple years ago but I got doxxed for working at Thiel Macro and deleted all tweets up to about last yearish.

Was there serious damage? Like people showing up at your house or something?
