I'm suspicious that there are "typical" modern city dwellers. I would guess 20th-to-80th percentile is >2 orders of magnitude.
Wonder how many people a typical modern city dweller meets in a lifetime at minimal 1:1 in-person convo level where names are exchanged? 10k maybe? How many if no names, like grocery checkout? How many including online-only? Our instincts are calibrated for like 500 total.

I think a fairly social person (1-2 social events a week) would hit 10k in 10 years.

I've speculated re this def 10K. Thinking school, sports, meets, field trips, dances, church groups/socials, parties, family/friends vacay/spring break, malls, movie/concert lines, shows, restaurants, tryouts, bus/train rides/stops, local park/pool, music lessons just on & on.

Forgot to mention jobs/retail as @dust782 alluded to. Just so many! I'd love to see them lined up. Probably stretch to the moon or something. Quite remarkable...
