Bozobits should be called bozogigabytes. They’re rarely 1-bit decisions. We’re still not used to an exit >> voice defaults, so exits are still far more fraught than they need to be. We bring unnecessary war-refugee level exit drama to twitter mutes 🙄

Exit early, exit often. Exit small, exit tiny. Dump the drama.
Exits are just glorified unilateral “no” decisions where a counterparty is confused about the level of enforceable mutuality.
The size/significance of your median exit decision should halve every 18 months.

I mean we don’t live in medieval villages where you kinda have to get along with the same few hundred people for a lifetime
On the flip side (heh!) you should be encouraging weakly attached people to flip bozobits on you and move on.

exit over voice is usually the result of one party have way more power than the other, right? but I gather the idea is to stop communication once we get enough bozobytes set in order to avoid possible retaliatory drama?

Not necessarily power related. On Twitter, exit is unfollow/mute/block/disengage unilaterally which low follower types can do to high follower types with much higher real power. Many have exited trump feed for eg.
