My hunch is it does help *something something neuroplasticity of neurons involved in proprioception; something something upregulation* but good luck creating a study that can demonstrate it. It’d take ten years, mightn’t work, and that’s 10 yrs of missed speedwalking

Maintaining mobility and robustness generally can be aided by physical activity, so the causation runs both ways. My best guess is: intense activity before middle age, particularly for increased lean mass. When older, avoid injuries, maintain ROM, eg stuff like yoga.
