feeling like this take is getting old… wish we could have real conversations about the ways in which interacting with people sometimes does/doesn't feel like labor / the very real implicit economies of relationships

fair, it’s admittedly stale im still vaguely resentful of the frame though, it feels actively harmful to perceive every relationship/obligation/etc in those terms (IMO its only gonna trend in the direction of individual isolation)

very fair. the phrase has trended towards the extreme, particularly on this website, where nobody is well adjusted or satisfied with their lives. I do think the groundswell was driven by a real need to talk about large-scale non-reciprocation tho… I think abt this meme a lotpic.twitter.com/mwcvSR69U1

the well-adjusted people, satisfied with their lives, who have accidentally found themselves on this website—surely they'll be able to move forward with the knowledge that such trivial aspersions don't bother them.
