How come no productivity systems have a phase where they deconstruct why you’ve chosen the behaviors you have before attempting to reprogram? I mean they offer vague psychobabble of “you’re avoiding this/afraid of that” variety but not proper inventory+analysis. Cc

I think it's similar to how therapists don't need to know every detail of your past, and in fact by taking it too seriously can reinforce or give too much weight to past limiting beliefs

Hmm I think it’s systematically underweighted because it’s hard to actually accommodate at scale, not because it is unimportant/not valuable

There’s a behaviorist/nurture side to the tabula rasa error. The assumption that if you don’t quite know what you are doing, you’re doing it wrong or worse, not doing anything meaningful at all. Self-awareness is not necessary for effective living, and might even be detrimental.
