What is the expected rate of return? At 2% you get: $1811, $7244, $380230, and $398264651658. Assuming 2% inflation you get $1000 in real terms. So the question becomes "what would you like to invest $1000 in today?" I would say a scholarship fund.

There needs to be a distinction made between investing for the individual, and investing for the community. Individually, it almost doesn't matter, provided the yield is reinvested.
