It's also ransom the other way round. Same way you can buy keywords of another company to outdo them by using their own name but more money. It's all bollocks. What do you suggest?

I think the best model is "I want you to pay me for providing me with a service". The basic failure mode for old industries/retail is that it refused to invest in modern tech -- apps, searchability, the internet convenience we expect. And now the chickens are coming to roost.

The historical analogy would have been businesses that refused to hook up to electricity or phone service. But past business was not as bizarrely shortsighted as modern business, so utterly incapable of appreciating where the future was headed. MBA-driven disaster?
