In prehistoric times people experienced a lot more violence, rape, disease, pain, and hunger. If you agree, do you think they prehistoric humans experienced more or less psychological trauma and PTSD?

It’s actually like driverless cars and accidents. There will be fewer accidents on average, but the ones that happen will be weirder and perhaps happen in bigger individual incidents.

ppl experiencing the same event might not develop PTSD - it seems correlated to whether or not they were able to react to it (eg running away from an attack vs being unable to move, even if physical outcome was same). I think civilization enables more recourse now so less trauma
