Do you have any “1 person twitter” relationships, where you’re not in a work/personal relationship, and not even deep friends per se, but you use each other as a think-out-loud reaction buffer for thoughts on a specific topic?
I have a few, but not super active. Often on DMs.
Conversation
Test: both of you have a different set of personal friends for just hanging out in good company. A 1PT is a passive, background-thinking relationship with someone whose better to think out loud with on some topics than hivemind twitter.

It’s quite rare. Beating a good, well-curated hive-mind twitter on any topic, even a pretty specialized one, is hard.
I think of it more like a lazy 1-entry twitter list that is also a dm channel.

I wish I knew how to do this better. It’s the conversational equivalent of blogchains.
Works best with just 1 other person. Max 7-8. Back in the day I used to have dozens of email threads like this, but email gets unwieldy fast as you go many kevels of nested responses deep.

Key difference from just a generic slack channel or dm thread is that it has a specific theme, even if loose and messy. It does not wander out of scope too easily.

This is unstable though. It either breaks down as you exhaust each other’s depth on a theme and start derping at each other, or it broadens into a generic hangout friendship that’s not actively processing an information stream. You can switch themes but that’s been rare for me.
