"High Peasant" referred originally to "simple food prepared with the best possible ingredients." Think a puttanesca sauce made with late summer dry-farmed tomatoes, Spanish salt-packed anchovies, capers from Pantelleria, olives from Gaeta, etc.: a peasant dish, done to the nines.

High-peasant: category suggested by @nils_gilman that led us to this 2x2 which uncovers a natural 4th ethos: Thrift store (roughly equivalent to @bruces favela chic idea and the Macklemore song. High peasant: think Alice Waters and Veblen leisure class.

Idea for a weird party: the same dish prepared all 4 ways. Eggs might be a good test ingredient. Premium mediocre: cloud eggs High peasant: perfect french style omelette Domestic cozy: hearty veggie-heavy scramble Thrift store: Denny's style with a pile of greasy hashbrowns
