If you classify western philosophers by what they led with, I think it is:
Epistemology-first: Spinoza, Descartes, Hume, Kant
Ontology-first: Hegel, Marx, Heidegger
Phenomenology-first: Nietzche, Husserl, Arendt
Treating these as stocks I think E is down, O is up, P is up a lot

Though I've also once been compared to Habermas/Frankfurt school, which is almost the opposite.
I've also been simultaneously accused of being a capitalist shill and a communist apologist for the same essay, so go figure :D
That's why I don't take comparisons seriously.

Habermas & FS are v different (basically the latter is Marxist, with an emphasis on the sphere of cultural production as ideological apparatus), be suspicious of anyone bracketing them together.

Yes, I know, that's why I pointed it out as a paradox. But no, it's not the same people making the comparisons. Conflating the two is a sort of sophomoric mistake that is usually a reason for me to tune out the person entirely.
