The model of how meaning fell apart (choiceless --> systematic --> countercultural --> subcultural --> atomized) and how it can be reconstructed (fluidity) rhymes well with my monotemporality --> atemporality --> multitemporality model
Conversation
choiceless+systematic = monotemporal
countercultural to atomized = descent into atemporality
fluidity = rise of multitemporality/constructionism

I always like to look for concrete fractal examples of such trend hypothesis. A sort of ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny type progression whereby individual creative output mirrors longer cultural patterns... and also as-above-so-below hermeticism

One I can see in my own life is the progression in my blog writing
First couple of years: choiceless/systematic
Gervais principle: beginning of my personal countercultural era
Blogchains: my current subcultural mode
Atomized: this is twitter draining some of my energy

Fluid: this is the aspiration behind my "constructions in magical thinking" tagline for future writing. Blogchains are almost, but not quite, multitemporal. The call-and-response blogchain with is closer to true multitemporal.

It would be *nice* if multitemporality meant a single coherent and smoothly evolving tunnel reality for each person. But that's degenerate. The minimum complexity is for each of us to have a headspace that is a braid-like long garden of forking paths that orbit each other.

Waldenponding is degenerate multitemporality where the stress of a braid-like personal reality makes you want to simplify down to a single stranded or low-coupling multi-stranded subjectivity. The design fiction of New Nature gets at why this is too simple.

I thought that Jordan Peterson had a well thought out approach to personal meaning and cultural meaning, but I'm not smart enough to figure out where he would fit into this model, do you guys have any insight?
