Been a good week on the consulting front, where it feels like I actually made a small difference on an interesting and important matter, in a way I never could have as a regular employee. Those are the kinds of weeks you gig for. Microdoses of a sense of psychohistorical agency.

One reason I do consulting instead of sticking to pure writing (besides $) is that pure writing is not a very satisfying life. Writing impact can occasionally be broad but is almost never deep. Psychohistorical nudging requires a kind of specificity general writing cannot achieve

Big time. I’ve always thought of consulting gigs w other fast-growing cos as a chance to recharge “Entrepreneur Energy Reserves”, partic when you’re the uncertainty of search and experiment phase. That feeling of leveraged agency and impact goes a long way ⚡️💪🏼
