Sigh. I’m going the other way. I’m trying to taboo the words epistemology and epistemic from my thinking/writing while people are so obsessed with it. It’s been an intellectual fidget spinner for the smart kids for a couple of years now. Stay away from ontological please.

My new mantra is "epistemology, epistemology, epistemology". The most important question I can think of is: How do we know what is true?

I can see the value of tabooing the words. I have a specific meaning in mind. How do I reason about what will happen in the future (climate change, geopolitical outcomes, impacts of tech and social movements) well enough to craft good personal strategies

the problem might be that most of the people saying it never bothered learning anything about the discipline. it's kind of like flakes at TED talking about 'quantum' without bothering to learn any physics.
