I realized that I’m not just speaking like him. Rather, he revealed to me that continually pausing to question and refine your thoughts while speaking can lead to much sharper ideas.

Code switching is a simple example, but too high level. I think we;re both getting at a level or two below that. Stuff like pauses, errs and umms etc. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code-swit

Yeah. Also tone. Sometimes you can hear someone’s excitement building as they’re talking, making it obvious that its new thoughts. “Patterns of speech” == “Thinking out loud”
