Wonder what long-term futures emerge from a survival-of-richest type world of the sort we have today, past say 4 gens. I don’t think it actually works. Wealth is only adaptive in a world with 10x-100x more poor people in it. So you’ll see minimum sustainable poverty society

Robots make bad substitutes for poor people because so far we haven’t been able to engineer them to want the sort of general life/existence that allows wealth to be created. Utility functions can’t be oppressed in extractive wealth dispensations. Automated poverty is AI-complete

Interesting observation - what are some examples of this within our current context? Kuwait? Don’t think there are any “poor” Kuwaitis - they end up migrating their poor. I always thought it was to build shinier buildings, but perhaps there is more to it 🤔
