It is reassuring to recognize how alien a younger generation is and how little you understand them or care to. It’s a sign they might actually be able to survive and thrive in a landscape that looks apocalyptic and hopelessly out of optionality to you.
I may not want to personally live in a future full of weird tiktokers communicating in video clips and dank memes and spending most of their time in air-conditioned virtual worlds on a baking planet, but if that’s the way the game continues I’m glad it continues rather than not
