Also, I don't think clocks are "sensors" - they do not sense anything, they just do something whatever the ambient condition is.

There is something to it. With reference to battery meters, if you have charger circuitry, then you have the sensors, too. Visualizing them is expensive. I think almost sll IoT devices have some means of reading out the battery state in the firmware. /2

And quite many will have a service to query it over network. The question is if there‘s a standard that all adhere to (I think so, there are only that many charger chips), and how much of a PITA it is to come up with software to connect and visualize the data.
