Half the interesting things I’ve learned in life have come out of asking, “why is this funny?”
Conversation
A question you’d think would be useful but rarely lives up to that expectation: “is this true?”
A slightly tweaked question that is more useful is “what is this true about?”
Slightly better than that is, “what is true about this?”
But none come close to “why is this funny?”

Humor is the foundation of epistemic laziness. When you laugh, you’ve already done 90% of the work to discover a new truth. You just have to put in the remaining 10% work to figure out what it is and how to sell it for cash.

Certainly, in politics, asking that question is REMARKABLY revealing.
