Almost done with Burn Notice 2nd binge. Amazing how good of a basic show it is. 80% of the fun of James Bond, John Wick, Mission Impossible, and Bourne trilogy combined... at 20% of the cost, and a more likable protagonist. But without Van Damme or Steven Seagal type tackiness

Yup! It's also interesting because the show ran more or less through the rise of both smart phones and prestige television, and you get to watch both of those technologies evolve over its run. Too bad it moves away from its successful formula in the last season and a bit.

Burn Notice might be one of my all time favorite binge shows.

I became irritated by the fact that I couldn't trust his little asides "If you need to build a bomb in a hurry using a microwave oven and a can of hairspray"
And I've grown sour on the formulaic aspect of procedurals. Give me the overarching narrative, without the weekly stuff!

The DIY style narration made it great. It was good because it was < 20% the cost.
