Unless there’s a drastic change in either affordability of a big metro I have strategic reason to be in, or a sudden jump in my income, I’m gonna look for an affordable small town to move to in the next few years. Priorities: airport, healthcare, near water, preferably coastal.

NOT looking for suggestions. I can look at a map, make a spreadsheet, and google to populate it same as any of you. Looking for a cheap trick to think about this right, get oriented for whatever the strategy should be. Right now it’s barely an idea let alone a strategic one.

Have you ever thought about living abroad? I feel like you’d thrive w/ high ambiguity tolerance. Plus it’s cheaper and time moves slower

Nope. Hard right now given family/eldercare and consulting constraints. Maybe for short periods. Or in a decade or two.

Chill dude, takes a while to get the way LA works, stop planning your next place so soon, it will defocus you
