It is truly depressing how easily money solves problems that seem impossible otherwise. Reminds you that people without money either have to suffer consequences of leaving them unsolved, or solve them in some unpleasant way which is often almost as bad as not solving them at all.

I have gotten used to buying random stuff on amazon that makes life easier, but 2 years ago we spent $$$ on doctors that don’t take insurance to get the best labor & delivery given my medical history. It was mind blowing.

The details aren’t important but basically there are thousands and thousands of women who want the care I got and they are stuck begging insurance companies, begging obstetricians, giving birth in their basement, “showing up pushing” to blindside whoever’s there etc

All we had to do is write this check and I got unlimited dr time of exactly the kind I wanted for 9 months, and it will have knock on effects including my health for rest of life and/or how many kids we have

It was also an interesting experience because I’m 5-10 years younger and look much much poorer than every other woman in that waiting room

I think some of them must have never even considered going to the cheap baby farm doctors, went straight to boutique without a second thought

Seems once you’re rich enough an expense in the $10-15k range related to health does literally become a no brainer
