As a word with a literal meaning, “progressive” is like a derelict patch of blight in an urban landscape. Nobody really wants to claim it, some people are forced to live there despite squalor. Ripe for some gentrification. I’m trying to buy it cheap and putting up a Whole Foods.

The property value is low, despite good fundamentals, and some would rather build a “progress studies” liberal-tarian neighborhood a few blocks over on shaky ground than try to reclaim “progressive”.
It’s burdened with debt and regulatory entanglements too like Tumblr, so cheap.

Another good one but that ones dead I think. No reclaiming it.
