Aside on protected tweets. It’s an interesting way to challenge the powers-that-be at Twitter, since they seem attached to a sophomoric free speech ideal. How would jack’s posture be forced to change at say 30% active users going protected? 50%? 75%?

A lot of changes on Facebook were kinda forced on it by users via secret groups growing and wall activity going down.
Protected tweets isn’t as powerful a lever but isn’t trivial either. A lot of what twitter does is based on asymmetric ungated follow as the default.
