Old people* of Twitter: What are some of your strategies/thoughts around how to learn from young people? * Age is a state of mind. Feel free to self-identify ;)

Yeah, I self-identify as old now. Or maybe firmly middle age. I don't try to learn from young people at all. I just try to get out of their way. Been trying to focus on the interesting thinking that being 44 uniquely enables. Thoughts I can think now I couldn't before.

Interesting! And happy to hear you’re doubling down on your comparative advantage. But don’t you worry that you’re missing signal that only the kiddos can pick up?

Not really. If it’s relevant to what I’m thinking about I’ll eventually hear about it. There’s not that much overlap between what young people pay attention to and what I pay attention to.

Also, it’s not really comparative advantage, it’s actual shifts in pattern of interest. 20-40 stuff mostly bores me now. And I think my latest interests are mostly boring to them as well.
